In 1993 when Mr. and Mrs. Forney refused to join a local church, one of its members, the Forney's suspect local gossip Cindy Millermon, spread the false gossip that they were devil worshippers. [ The Forney's are Baptists ] It's a very small town and the gossip spread throughout. Soon it became a series of hate-crimes. Their 4 year old daughter was assaulted. Their sons were threatened. A neighbor's son spread drawings of their family depicting them as demons throughout the school system. He bragged how he had seen devil ceremonies in the Forney home. He also told many others of his plans to burn their 4 year old daughter alive as a witch. There were several others making the same threat.
When the family complained to the local police they were met with harrassment. To have hate-crimes in their city made the police look bad. The Forney's were harrassed by the police! The chief of police lead a boycott of Bonnie Forney's job until she was fired for being a "devil worshipper harrassing the local police". The same day Gary Forney was falsely arrested for making complaints well within his legal rights. He was also arrested for five other charges, included a false charge of drug possession. Mr. Forney was told to plead guilty and that if he didn't a member of his family would be arrested every day until he did. Only one of the charges went to court. Yet, Mr. Forney was still convicted of all six charges. Gary was threatened during the trial as was his wife. The threats had an effect on the outcome of the trial. There were further threats made toward the family should an appeal have been made!
With the police's blessing and denial of the case, the hate-crimes increased. The Forney's continued to complain. They were told by a LPC police officer that it "didn't matter what happened to" their 4 year old "little bitch", about the burning threats, that it was "seperation of Church and State". Shortly after they received a letter from the Black Hawk County court house that both Mr and Mrs Forney's Iowa citizenships had been revoked by the county. They tried calling the county attorney to find out where the county had the right to revoke state citizenship. The Black Hawk Country Attorney's office confirmed that the Black Hawk County Attorney was "fully aware of the case" but refused to talk to them.
The hate-crimes and terrorist threats have continued unabated for 15 years. Recently, the city is threatening the Forney's about the condition of their property, yet major portions of their property have been claimed by bordering neighbors who have threatened the family if they catch any of the Forneys in their own yard. The La Porte City police have granted one neighbor the right to the Forney property including the paint and chimney on the side bordering them. In 1997 when Mr and Mrs Forney finished paying off their home loan, they were told by the Black Hawk County courthouse that they weren't allowed to own property!
The Forney's are in very real danger of losing their home due to Hate-Crimes and being unable to maintain property that others have made terrorist threats against the Forney's should they even try to access!

Illegally seized property
The yellow side of the Forney home in this photo was illegally seized in 1992 by the neighbor on the east.
In 1992 the Forney family attempted to paint their home blue and were met by threats to murder "any Forney" who might attempt to paint the eastern side of the Forney home.
The La Porte City Police told the Forney's that the neighbors making the death threats were "well within their rights" as the east side of the Forney home, including the paint and chimney, was actually owned by the neighbors making the threats!
The east side of the Forney home remains yellow to this day.
In 1997 the Forney's were denied all right to own property in Black Hawk County Iowa.
In July 2003 the same neighbors claimed even more of the Forney property, and placed a "for sale" sign in front of the Forney home. The same neighbor had egged the Forney's car the week before.
The La Porte City Police took no action on the Forney's complaints!
Deprivation of income
Former site of Gary Forney's consignment business. The store was open four weeks when a boy was allowed to stand out front and yell at people not to go into the store as it was "a gay business"! The boy's actions were ruled "freedom of speech", and the store closed a week later due to lack of business.
police harassment
From mid February 1994 until March 5th 1994 the La Porte City Police Department ran a boycott of Bonnie Forney's place of employment. After her employer discussed the boycott in a phone call with the La Porte City Police Chief of Police, Bonnie Forney was fired from her job for being "a devil-worshipper harassing the police"!
Within an hour of Bonnie Forney's firing, Gary Forney was falsely arrested on three felony charges, and three lesser charges. Mrs. Forney would later be falsely arrested for one felony and a lesser charge. Mr. Forney was told to plead guilty or a member of his family would be arrested every day until he did. Both of his sons would be harassed and arrested within the week for minor charges. The felony charges against Mr. and Mrs. Forney are still pending trial after over fifteen years.
Terrorist threats
In the spring of 1993 the Forney family were informed of several groups of teenagers making death threats toward the Forney family. One high school male was circulating pictures throughout Union High School portraying the Forney family as demons. He was also openly bragging of his plans to burn the then 4 year old Forney girl alive!
When the Forney's informed the La Porte City Police of the terrorist threats being made, they were told by an officer that it didn't matter what happened to their "little bitch", that it was "seperation of Church and State"!
PROPerty Damage
The property damage shown in this photo was reported to the Forney family as having been done by a neighbor with a baseball bat as "a warning to the "cat-eaters".
The Forney family was afraid to report the damage out of fear of reprisal.
Black hawk county, iowa fines family $2,405 for failure to join church
August 21 2009, Black Hawk County, Iowa fined the Forney Family $2,405 plus an additional $25. The fine was alleged to be for yard cleanup, but was in reality for failure to join a church in La Porte City of Hate, Iowa!
The Forney Family have been denied access to their own back yard due to terrorist threats since 1992. Large portions of the Forney property have been granted to neighbors by the La Porte City of Hate Police Department. The threats came after the Forney Family refuses to join a local church and were falsely branded "Devil-Worshippers" and "Cat-Eaters"! Hate crimes and terrorist threats soon followed.
Ove the years the Forney rear yard became overgrown due to threats should any member of the Forney Family attempt to access their own property. La Porte City of Hate Iowa eventually cleaned up the disputed property and fined the Forney Family $2,430
sex offender "sent" to home of 4 year old female
At around midnight, one evening in October of 1993, a registered sex offender appeared at the Forney home, and tried to enter the home. The sex offender claimed he had been "sent" to join the "coven". He didn't say by whom. The sex offender was told to leave, and left without incident. The La Porte City Police took no action. Laura Forney was four years old at time of incident.
Hate-crimes are community standard in Iowa!
CEDAR FALLS, Iowa - A tarp is covering a welcome to Cedar Falls highway sign after authorities discovered it has been defaced with racist graffiti.
Captain Jeff Harrenstein of the Cedar Falls police department says the sign was spray-painted with graffiti targeting blacks and Jews. He says the city received reports about the graffiti on Friday.
The sign faces southbound Highway 218.
Harrenstein says the sentiments of the graffiti "is not something you want to see on your welcome sign." He says jurisdictions in Bremer and Butler counties have been dealing with similar cases.
Officials say the Cedar Falls Parks Department plans to paint over the graffiti when the weather allows. Currently, a blue tarp covers part of the sign to conceal the graffiti.

My family has been the victims of hate-crimes, illegally seized property, terrorist threats, since 1993. My wife and I have had our Iowa citizenships illegally revoked since 1994.We were also denied the right to own property in Black Hawk County in 1997. Our property has been illegally put up for sale in 2003. We have also been threatened by the La Porte City Police Department and the Black Hawk County Sheriff's Department! How do we go about sueing the county?
